DC Men's Boost Sneaker,Black/Tennis,9 M US Review

I was looking for a nice pair of all-around shoes to walk my dog. Because I have a seven month old puppy and we go for walks at night, I needed something with excellent traction but is still comfortable, light weight and has attention grabbing colors.

This pair of DC Men's Boost Action Sports is great. I chose the wild dove/yellow color because the yellow is eye-catching to let cars know I'm walking my dog. The shoe is very light weight (unilite materials) and comfy so I can walk up to 4 miles with my puppy without any discomfort. I can also jog with these on.

The fit is true to size. I'm between 10.5-11 so I opted for the 11. My feet are relatively wide but these aren't tight, though they do hold my feet firmly in place, but without constriction. This may be due to the wide design (it almost looks like a skate/athletic hybrid shoe).

Two pairs of laces are provided.

These inserts are designed to fit with Smith Optics sunglasses and replace a pair I mistakenly left on the roof of my car after one of many long runs. I had enough unreliable flashlights and wanted a reliable compact flashlight that used common AA batteries. This light fills the bill 100%. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for. The light output is almost unbelievable and the programmable modes are a nice touch. This is my EDC flashlight and it gets used many times each day at work. I'd rate it a 6 if I could. If you need a flashlight that is small, bright and as tough as nails this is a great option for you.

Schwalbe ULTREMO ZX V-Guard, White Folding tire Review

I've been running the Continental GP4000S because of their renown durability and low rolling resistance. After reading some well written detailed comparo in a European magazine, I decided to give the Ultremo ZX tires a try. They edged the Conti in speed, but just a bit short in durability.

I can say that I was not disappointed. These tires inspire great confidence in taking sharp corners within a pack @ 26 - 30 mph. They are smooth fast and grip extremely well. I don't ride that bike in the rain, so I cannot comment on wet traction. I was expecting a rather short life, but I have around 3000 miles so far and no flats. The rear looks a little thin, with tons of nicks from glass and other sharp objects, but running Zipp wheels with valve extensions, I've been grateful to not have to mess with that on any ride for the past year. In contrast, I changed from the Continentals because I've had such bad lucks with flats on all my road bikes.

The reason for less than 5 star rating is from the beginning the tires have had threads from the sides peeling off and getting tangled in the brakes. At first I was concerned, but although I can see the missing threads on the sidewall, it doesn't seem to affect the performance. Several shop mechanics I've shown it to, mentioned they've never seen that before. So, despite the great review, I'm a bit leery about getting another set. Another con is because these tires have no treads and wear indicator, the only way to know when it's time to replace is when you start to get too many flats or in my case the sidewalls begin to look very bare.

I saw this balance bike advertised for the 3-5 age range, so I purchased one, and after assembling it, I could see how small it was. Then when my son tried it, the YBike was definitely too small. The age range for it is more like 2 or 2.5 to 3.5. Misleading advertising.

Here is other the major problem with this bike: in today's market, with more and more balance bike options, YBike simply lacks adjustability as the child grows. The handlebars are not adjustable. The seat is not adjustable. You can easily find 10 balance bikes online that have adjustable handlebars and seats, which are actually important for the longevity of a bike! Although the frame of YBike Extreme is small, the seat could have been made with at least one higher position. The handlebars are also a little narrow and low. No rubber grips.

Your kid will definitely have fun on Ybike Extreme, but do not expect it to last as long as a balance bike with adjustability. For that reason, I could not recommend this balance bike wholeheartedly to a family who has $80 to spend only to have to replace this bike in one year or so. I'd tell families to buy a longer-lasting balance bike!

Assembly was very easy and quick. Disassembly was also a cinch. YBike Extreme is so very light and easy to carry. It scores points for its streamlined, modern design.

It's too bad that the designers didn't include longevity with this bike.
