Pro Taper SE Series 7/8" Standard Handlebars - Suzuki Mini/Jet Black Review

First of all, I wanna say this is a great product and I'm very glad I bought it.

However, additionally to the great performance and comfort that these handle bars provide, the main reason why I bought this product was to obtain a better driving position for my 2012 Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS. Undoubtedly this handle bar offers me a great improvement, but if I had chosen a version even higher I had been more satisfied. So for people who are looking for a similar purpose I recommend you get the ProTaper CONTOUR RAPTOR (pn #02-7981, black) because that one is HIGHER than the one I bought.

I cannot say that by using this handle bar you get less vibration, but it feels firmer than the factory handle bar whose wall is thinner.

Another feature I like is that this handle bar is wider than the original so the arms position is also wider therefore handling and control are greater.

The installation of the new handle bar is not precisely a big deal; however I would recommend leaving the job to an expert. There was no need for extension cables. The throttle cable was pulling a little (the bike accelerates itself at far turn –only left side–), but this is something easy to fix by repositioning the cables in a better way.

NOTE: For those buying this product and have the same model of my bike keep in mind that this model do not need the bar mounts; the existing ones on your bike will fit perfectly. Get the bar mount kit only if you want the handle bar to be about 1 inch higher. For this model of handle bar I bought it was necessary to add a metal piece to make it fit because ProTaper bar mounts are designed for thicker handle bars.

I definitely recommend this product as it is a great plus for the bike.
