I've never reviewed a product on Amazon before. That's how much I love this bag. It's the perfect size for everyday stuff or light daytripping: I can fit a water bottle, (small) camera case, wallet, sunglasses case, and snack bars in the main compartment; gum, pens, mp3 player, odds and ends, and a small pharmacy in the front zippered compartment; and I don't have a fancy iPad or whatever, but the quilted iPad pocket is perfect for carrying a paperback without the cover getting battered by all the other junk in your bag. You can't cram a jacket or a warm scarf in there, but it's a medium-sized bag, after all.The bag itself is lightweight but sturdy, and has a nice wide strap that goes comfortably across your chest so you can toss the bag on and forget about it. The main compartment is only held closed by a magnetic snap, but the bag curves against your hip when you're wearing it, so it stays pretty well closed. The "rosewood" color is an odd sort of burgundy-brown: it's brown enough to go with my brown boots, but reddish enough that I think it'll go well with my black or dark gray winter coats, too. It's SUPERBAG! The lining is an amusing brown-with-pink-polka-dots. The base is wide/deep enough for the purse to stand up by itself when you set it down.
The one annoying thing is that the little phone pocket - which does a great job holding a phone, don't get me wrong - has a little leather flap on it. I specifically picked out a fabric bag to avoid using animal products, and there's just no need for that piece to be leather, anyway. A bit of canvas or whatever would've done the trick just fine. It's not even quality leather, it's cheap stuff. So that's disappointing, but this bag's overall superiority to every other bag in the universe makes up for it.
