The Large Assault Pack from Red Rock Outdoor Gear is a 23 Liter tactical backpack. Its compartment expansiveness lends itself to be the perfect every day carry bag or bug-out bag. The padded sleeve back panel is hydration compatible, but also serves as a secure compartment for an iPad or laptop. The contoured shoulder straps are constructed with mesh padded and fully adjustable. An adjustable waist strap distributes the weight of the load.

I purchased this in Coyote from an independent dealer at a local gun show recently, and I have to say...impressive. Most impressive.
Apparently I stold mine for $40.00 including tax.
The pros: Well built.Thick, alomst Cordura quality nylon.
No jamming heavy duty zippers with easy to grap cord pulls on EACH one.
2 outer pockets: the top one for glasses, small items-unlined, unpadded, but whatever.
The bottom one has a small inner pocket for organizing pens and small instruments, so forth.
The first inner pocket has two mesh pockets and another pouch that are ideal for pistol magazines, a wallet, passport, whatever. The main body of this pocket is easily large enough for an ipad, kindle, netbook etc.

The large main pocket also has a mesh pouch large enough for most laptops.Padding between this pouch and the inner and outer layers provides sufficient protection for anything but those wafer thin notebooks. There is also an additional zipped pouch for more glasses, USB, earbuds, etc.
This pack is easily a two day pack. You can cram and stuff it till the seams throb, and then the compression straps allow to increase/decrease the profile.
Well padded straps for all heights, a large waist belt, and top quality stitching and construction. Mesh back panel to help wick away sweat. Also has a heavily padded bladder pouch big enough for at least a two liter.
Molle webbing is everywhere!
Cons:
No sternum strap. The heavily padded straps slide off easily. Get a Blackhawk sternum strap for $8.00 and this is as good as a Maxpedition at 1/3rd the cost.
