Taking to heart the other reviewer's advice, I ordered the Dozer III half a size larger. She was right: the sandal fit very well -- space for my toes, no part of my foot apparently rubbing or slipping -- and I thought I'd found the perfect hiking sandal. How wrong I was.

Unfortunately, the only way to wear in walking shoes is to... walk. And that's when the disaster happened. The back strap of the sandals bit into my heels (three places in the left, one in the right), causing painful blisters in just a couple of hours of light walking. The one in my right heel was especially nasty. They were so bad all I could wear afterwards were flip-flops and clogs.

There seems to be a particularly critical place, where the strap meets a vertical reinforcement that ends in the sole. Also, this vertical piece isn't well padded at all (although the back of the strap itself is), so rubbing is almost inevitable.

Apart from this deal-breaker (can't return them now, can I?), another thing that bothered me were the innersoles, covered with some rougher material that isn't so nice -- if I ever dare to wear these shoes again, after my blisters heal, I'll use an insole. Otherwise, the Dozer III seems to be well made and solid. I liked them. My feet didn't.
