This skate is a sufficient skate for our 9-year-old boy. We purchased a much higher quality skate and he quickly got a blister from them and could not wear them until the blister went away. Because he skates four-days a week, we got him these as a back-up. He was able to skate with these while healing from the other blister. Although they have a plastic frame, they endure his rapid and crazy skating. It is very important to check all the wheels and attachments very frequently though. As is the case for all types of skates. One inside wheel flew off while he was skating. No one was hurt. Our family highly recommends these for the roller blader who does tricks, skates backwards, spins, twirls and even skates on school cement surfaces. They are very durable. The price is great too!
