I checked the temperature just before I left the house, and was 38 degrees. Bbbbrrrrrr! (I also have a Pearl Izumi Transfer baselayer, but the wind just cuts right through--it's more useful for warmer days). The Barrier baselayer kept my upper body warm since it was completely effective at blocking the airflow. The nice thing about this garment is the barrier fabric is only on the front, so persperation is free to vent out the back. One thing to note is the barrier fabric is NOT on the arms, so my arms were pretty chilly until I warmed up.
