I'm a horse veterinarian in east Texas and I wear these to work every day. I'm on my feet a lot, and they were so comfortable from the first time I put them on - the slightly stiff leather toe softened up quickly. I get lots of "stuff" on them, and my feet have stayed clean & dry. It took me three tries to get the right size though - I have a wide foot and typically get a 6.5 or 7, but in this shoe I had to go down to a 6 wide (i.e., they run large), even with my orthotic inserts. I've been doing this work for 13 years and have been through about one pair of shoes per year, several different brands, & all hiking-style waterproof boots, and so far I'm calling these my favorite.
